In honor of the 10th anniversary of "Heart Attack," Demi Lovato has released its rock remix ৎ୭
Song: Heart Attack - Rock Version
Artist: Demi Lovato
Sub-Genres: #PootLovato
Label: Island Records
Description: As someone who has previously written off Demi Lovato as mildly irrelevant, I would like to apologize to them. Consistently putting out bangers since 2008, Demi Lovato has gone from Lemonade Mouth and Princess Protection Program to her first full length rock/punk album. I've always thought that Lovato's voice would lend itself to that genre in the way that Miley Cyrus ate up performing "Heart of Glass." Their voice packs the power to deliver on harsher rock songs like "SKIN OF MY TEETH." It's been noticeable since "Give Your Heart a Break." Some red carpet moments are questionable, I admit, but how many artists have been so versatile or purely talented. Navigating her sexuality and battles with addiction, they are still alive and thriving. I think it's super admirable !! Her latest album, HOLY FVCK didn't blow up as much as I would have expected based on its quality, but punk isn't for everyone. I think the album was a refreshing and thoroughly enjoyable new side of the singer. Again, the vocals really shone in the rock genre on the album. I loved Princess Protection Program when I was a kid. I loved Demi Lovato as a princess + her chemistry with Selena Gomez (another former Disney fav) ! And over the years hearing their tracks on the radio, I was always appreciative of Demi's music. As their spotlight faded I guess I forgot how much I loved their contributions to the world of music. In case you forgot, I hope I reminded you.
Ten years ago, Demi Lovato released the classic pop ballad "Heart Attack." The bridge is epically performed by drunken karaoke singers every day across the globe. The rock version definitely shows a different, but welcome side of the singer's vocals. Furthermore, the long ending of the song really resonated with me. Giving "Petals" and "Enjoy the Silence." The rock version packs an edge to the song, as promised, without being obnoxious. The anger and pain shine through in this version more clearly than the original, made-for-radio pop version. Both versions have a special place in my heart (especially after the hilarious TikTok challenge), but the original takes first place (with the exception of the rock outro).
