Native Hardcore is just awl deadly.

In recent years, the sound of hardcore metal has been gaining momentum. As the scene grows larger by the day and draws in new audiences, many bands are finally getting the recognition they deserve. One of the most exciting developments is the rise of diversity in hardcore, which is building a stronger sense of community, especially among Indigenous artists and fans. However, this growing diversity hasn’t come without controversy. There has been discourse around Black- and Brown-led bands being labeled as “anti-white hardcore,” revealing ongoing racial tensions within the genre. Historically, hardcore and alternative spaces have been predominantly white, with people of color often feeling alienated. So, I wanted to use my platform with KAMP to spotlight some of my favorite Indigenous hardcore bands. Many of these bands use their lyricism to confront social and political issues faced by Indigenous communities, tackling topics like genocide, colonialism, and landback movements.

Heresy is an all-Native band representing the Gila River tribe out of Laveen, Arizona. Their sound is fast-paced, aggressive, and absolutely made for moshing. With raw vocals, heavy guitar riffs, and pounding drums, they deliver everything you want in a hardcore set.

I’ve been wanting to feature them on my show Tse Adzaa’, but unfortunately, most of their songs are explicit. I also haven’t had the chance to see them live yet, but I did watch their 2023 interview with DIY Interviews on YouTube to get a feel for their vibe (Youtube Video of their Interview from 2023). The members came off humble and proud. I love that they rep their nation and districts awl loudly and unapologetically, it's awesome to see.

My favorite tracks from them are “Triple Threat,” “D.O.A,” “Suffer the Loss,” and “No Return.” I’m manifesting the day I get to see them live. Check them out below!

INSIDE YOU brings something different to the table. Representing Oklahoma City, they blend hardcore aggression with unique sampling. One of their most striking tracks, “COLONIZER STOMP,” features a sample from Northern Cree’s pow wow song War Cry. Their unapologetic lyrics and bold titles make me feel so Indigenous and awl deadly every time I hit play. Their songs like “White Devil,” “Colonizer Stomp,” and “The Plains Are Watching You” speak volumes and shows their unapoligetic nature to the system of colonialism. Their TRIBE STYLE EP is a personal favorite and also because I can actually play it on air (no explicit content). If you haven’t seen their Flyover Fest set recorded by hate5six, you should check them out!

Ethereal Tomb hails from Tkaronto, so-called “Canada,” and reps TURTLE ISLAND STREET METAL. Their sound is a gritty blend of hardcore and punk, but what really hits is their lyricism; deep, intentional, and fiercely Indigenous. Their track “LANDBACK STOMP” samples the iconic Native film Smoke Signals, and the thrashy riffs make it a perfect mosh anthem. Honestly, it makes me want to mosh in my mocs and big ol’ earrings. Another favorite is “Born Into Pain,” a song that unpacks the systemic disadvantages Native people are born into. Ethereal Tomb captures the Indigenous experience with power and honesty. I highly recommend checking out their live set (most recent: Ethereal Tomb- Flying V) and their music video “When The Rivers Dry.” (Music Video: When The Rivers Dry). I recommend to check out their live sets on youtube.

These bands are more than just music they are represent: resistance, pride, and reclamation. Whether you’re new to hardcore or a longtime fan, give them a listen. Support Indigenous voices. Support Indigenous noise. Never be ashamed to be indigenous, be proud, be brown, and be loud.

Mən uzun müddətdir müxtəlif onlayn kazinolarda oynayıram və bu yaxınlarda yeni bir platforma ilə tanış oldum. Burada ən çox bəyəndiyim cəhət oyunların müxtəlifliyi və yüksək keyfiyyətli canlı oyun təcrübəsi oldu. Xüsusilə, Pinco adlanan bölmə vasitəsilə rahatlıqla oyunlar arasında keçid edə bilmək çox xoşuma gəldi. Ümumilikdə, saytın istifadəsi çox rahatdır və təhlükəsizlik tədbirləri də kifayət qədər güclüdür. Təcrübəmdə heç bir problem yaşamadım və gələcəkdə də buradan istifadə etməyi düşünürəm.
