Lineup: Roger Clyne and The Peacemakers
Genre: Southwestern Rock
Venue: Rialto Theatre
Date: September 24th
Description: Roger Clyne and the peacemakers have been one of the most prolific bands of the Southwest for the last 20 years or so. Before that, Roger Clyne and Drummer PH Naffah were members of the band "The Refreshments" who were fairly big in the late 90's with their hit song "Banditos" and writing the iconic theme to the television series "King of the Hill." I personally have seen Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers on more occasions than I remember, and every show is immaculate. Bassist Nick Scropos and Guitarist Jim Dalton (of the Railbenders) have their crowd and stage interactions locked-down, Roger remains the magnetic frontman and PH never falters in his rhythm. They are supported by The Johns, one of whom is also part of Orkesta Mendoza, who lend their talents on various accompanying instruments to make the show that much fuller. Their particular style of Southwestern Rock is unique and their love of music shines through their performance. This show was no different than any other of their shows I've been to, immaculate to the note and definitely worth the time even if you're just there to sit and listen to seasoned musicians play their hearts out.
