TAME IMPALA IS BACK BABY. All of the fans on all of the Reddits and the Facebooks are going unhinged about whether or not this single is good or not. I am on the side of good, especially considering that it’s been too long since Currents (and its B-Sides). The song starts out with this incredibly dramatic piano cadence that I really love. Then, the classic Kevin Parker drums integrate themselves, creating this awesome layered intensity that’s sure to comfort Tame fans everywhere. I really enjoyed the lyrics, as well as the music itself. The track is mostly synth and bass, not a lot of guitar, but is still great overall. My favorite part is the repeated portion at the end that goes “I should be flying straight, don’t be late / Cause time waits for no one…” I cannot wait until more tracks come out if this one is any indication to where Kevin is taking us.
Sounds Like: King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, somewhat Benny Sings-ish
