KLMF: Knocked Loose, Drain, and Militarie Gun at the Rialto

As the Knocked Loose Fall 24' Tour is nearing the end in Washington D.C next week. I was reminiscing on the October 21st show at the Rialto, this was an awesome show to say the least. The opening bands of Militarie Gun and Drain set a fantastic atmosphere throughout the crowd, with the crowd loving Drain's Vocalist Sammy Ciaramitaro's energy. Sammy's energy set the tone for the rest of the night. At the show I stood fairly far in the back, but the energetic nature of Drain's set pulled me closer and closer. Like a moth to a flame I somehow ended up a person away from the barrier, when their hit song "Feel the Pressure" come on I was being squished and squashed. I must have burned so much energy just from Drain alone, during the break into Knocked Loose's set I stayed in the same area. I ended up getting Drain's setlist as it was scribbled on a La Croix box. I do have to say this was the stinkiest show I have been to in awhile, I observed there was a lot of single males in the audience. The way I knew the demographic of men was large was when the men's restroom line was longer than the woman's line, I have never seen that occur. Interesting demographic to say the least, but there was definitely a stench of Body Odor, Foul Breath, and even Chaa' (Poop). Although every metal show is always a bit stinky, but this one being in an indoor venue accentuated the stench.

Knocked Loose's Fall Tour 24' Included other bands: The Garden, Drain, and Militarie Gun. At the show I attended at the Rialto in Tucson, The Garden wasn't on the setlist for that night. The absence of the Garden didn't deter me from getting tickets. This tour was mostly to promote their new album "You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To" released earlier this year in May, the album being a really good listen with their iconic intense metalcore sound and thrashy riffs. I am an avid Knocked Loose enjoyer, so I decided to go. I have heard of Drain, but wasn't an avid listener and I did not know of Militarie Gun. During Drain's setlist, their riffs reminded me faintly of Slayer, causing an immediate mosh pit after the first riff in Feel the Pressure. There is one thing I do have to say about Sammy Ciaramitaro he can really control a crowd, his ability to become enthralled in the energy causing him to crowd surf and join the mosh pit (Youtube Video: Drain at The Rialto, Feel the Pressure). After the concert the bands are now in my rotation, I have even been consuming their interviews and other media to get a deeper view into their lives. I have becoming to take a liking to Sammy's interviews, I suggest you watch any interview with him, his personality can be felt through the screen.

Of course at metal show there will be most pits, but here about 70% of the room becomes a mosh pit which I believe was super fun. There was a lot of thrashing and moshing, with the vocalists of everyband insisting for a mosh pit. Even Sammy from Drain exclaiming "F***ing start punching people!", the energy of the crowd was immaculate. I even got to see some familiar faces from the Slipknot's “HERE COMES THE PAIN” 25th Anniversary Tour in Phoenix AZ from September 15th, people whom I've noticed in the crowd before. Knocked Loose's set that night was the right amount of everything: the length, the sound, the vibes, and the visuals. The visuals were amazing, the depth that the pyrotechnics went through with the air blasts. Being so close to Knocked Loose's vocalist Bryan Garris, made me starstruck. Along with burning all my energy at the Drain set, I was

in a state of euphoria staring at Bryan Garris. His vocals were beautiful, his energy was beautiful, and everything was perfect. Knocked Loose's opening with Thirst and Deep in the Willow (Youtube Video: Knocked Loose at the Rialto, Thirst/Deep in the Willow) was the perfect atmosphere to set the tone for the rest of their show. The fast pace drums the screaming was so perfect, I loved every second of it. I know it's a good show when I end up with unexplained bruises, a sore neck, and a raspy voice. Overall the experience was awesome and if you ever have the chance to see Knocked Loose, please do.
